The South Adams County Fire Marshal’s Office performs annual fire inspections on all businesses and multi-family dwellings within the boundaries of our fire district. The City of Commerce City and County of Adams Colorado has adopted the 1997 Uniform Fire Code (U.F.C.).

On an annual basis, each business and multi family dwelling is inspected by the Fire Marshal’s Office to ensure that these codes and regulations are being followed. By performing these inspections, we try to minimize the chance for fire and property damage, while trying to increase public safety. Not only is it our job to enforce such codes by law, but we also believe that we are minimizing tragedies in our community. The Fire Marshal’s Office hopes that a business owner views us as a valuable resource to safeguard their investment.

Along with doing annual fire inspections the South Adams County Fire Marshal’s Office also conducts pre-inspections of businesses and multi family dwellings to check fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire hood systems, and to assure that the buildings meet all current fire code requirements prior to occupancy.

To schedule an inspection for new construction, or you just need an updated inspection call 303-288-0835 with a minimum of 24 hours notice.  If you need the inspection on a Monday you will need to schedule the inspection no later than the Thursday before.
