Open Burn Permit Regulations:

Open Burning permits shall only be valid from 10:00 am till sunset. Agriculture burning may start at 7:00 am. Under no circumstances shall open burning be allowed to continue overnight. These requirements may be waived at the discretion of the Fire Marshal. (required)

It is the responsibility of the Burn Permit Applicant to check the Adams County Sheriff's Website for any applicable burn restrictions or bans,. (required)

No permit will be used under any circumstances for burning hazardous or toxic materials. (required)

No open bruning permits shall be issued during the better air campaign or other special pollution alerts, or local bans on open burning by local authorities. (required)

Permits will not be issued for burning household trash, garabage, tires, rubber, plastics, coated wood, products, ( paints, varnish, creosote, and other surface coatings) wire insulation or other materials that would produce more smoke than clean burning material. (required)

The Granting Authority and employees, in issuing a permit, do not assume any responsibility or liability for any hazardous condition created by the permittee which results in damage to the person or property of permittee or the personal property of any person.
