Brittany Brown
Division Chief Brown joined South Adams County Fire in 2023 as the Division Chief of Fire Prevention/Fire Marshal. Chief Brown oversees the Fire Prevention Division, Development and Construction Plan Review, Business Compliance Inspections, Fire and Life Safety Programs, and Fire Investigations. Brown is from the Southeast New Mexico/Texas Panhandle border, where she has worked as a Fire Marshal, Training Officer, Fire Inspector/Investigator, and Firefighter/EMS in Texas and New Mexico. She has spent time serving as Vice President for the New Mexico Fire Marshal’s Association and as an adjunct instructor for the New Mexico Firefighters Training Academy, The Illinois Fire Service Institute, and The National Fire Academy. She also teaches for the Southern California Safety Institute and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Brown also has served as the Co-Chair for the New Mexico Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition and is part of the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition State Leaders Team. Brown has a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering and is pursuing a Doctoral Degree at Oklahoma State University in Forensics with a concentration in Arson, Explosives, Firearms, and Toolmarks (AEFTI). She is married to her husband Christopher, and they have a chocolate Labrador named Jax; together, they enjoy hunting, fishing, and camping.
